Spelling Words
Please practice your child's spelling word lists with him or her. The test will be each Friday. You'll find Tic-Tac-Toe spelling is a way your student may choose different activities that suit their style.
Accelerated Reader
To check any book's AR level and quiz point value, use this website: www.arbookfind.com
Each student must check out an AR book each week at the library. Their second choice could also be an AR book if they desire. They are only allowed to take a quiz on a book that is on their level or higher. (No testing on books that are too easy!) A passing score on AR tests is 80% or more. They may attempt to pass a higher level book quiz but only get two attempts before they must go back to their level.
Our 1st nine weeks goal is a classroom goal of 50 books. The next nine weeks will be personalized goals for each student. See the attached parent letter explaining Accelerated Reader with more details.
