I am excited to be back in a 2nd grade classroom at Roberts Elementary this year. Teaching is such a rewarding experience and I look forward to coming to school each day. You will find our faculty and staff to be friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable and professional. We're all family here at Roberts.
I worked for 11 years in the business field before staying home to take care of my children for the next nine years. I worked as a Georgia Pre-Kindergarten teacher for three years while going to school at Brenau University to get my teaching credentials. I've taught 2nd grade and Kindergarten and I completed my Gifted Endorsement. I wouldn't go back to my "old job" for anything in the world!
I was born and raised in the great Sunshine State of Florida! I graduated from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN with a B.S. in Business Administration. I have been married for 28 years to a wonderful guy, Bud Hennebaul. We met, got engaged and married all in nine months and haven't looked back! My poor parents!
We have a son, Jay, who is 18 and a freshman at University of Tennessee - Chattanooga this year and is planning to become a high school teacher. He will be working with the wrestling team at Chattanooga. Go Mocs! We have another son, Justin, who is 14 and is in the 9th grade at Mountain View High School. He is a lacrosse player and is involved in Student Council, Jr. Beta Club, chorus and 4-H.
We also have two dogs, Casey, (who is the happiest creature we know) and Bear, who is really an alligator in a furry coat. He is the king of shredding! We also have a leopard gecko named Freckles who eats and sheds.
I promise to take good care of your children. I believe they are all individuals who are worthy of my respect and love. I will strive to find the way they learn the best and to help them grow academically and socially to help fulfill their hopes and dreams! We will create a classroom community where we will learn to care for and encourage each other to become leaders in our class, school, and community. We want excellence to become not just an attitude, but a way of life.
